2019 Portland Eco Film Festival
Exciting news! Hike the Divide: A Conversation about Climate Action on the Continental Divide Trail has officially been selected to the 2019 Portland Eco Film Festival! The film will be joining 24 others over 4 days of screenings at Portland’s historic non-profit Hollywood Theatre. Hike the Divide will be screening at 2 pm on September 28th, along with the short film “Where Life Begins” , directed by Katie Schuler:
“Along the Arctic Coast, at the northmost point on American soil, we explore the inseparable bond between a Gwich’in mother and her child, a caribou mother and her calf, the sacred and fragile moments after birth and the importance of protecting the place "Where Life Begins".”
The screening will be followed by a discussion/Q+A with yours truly.
Those of you who have followed this project for a while, or from the get go, will understand how meaningful selection to this festival is to me. You know that when I reached the Mexican border, I had no experience with filmmaking, and that the 26 hours of interview footage I had captured was not intended to be hewed down into an 80 minute film. Yet here we are, nearly three years later, and the stories I found will at last be shared with the world. Thanks to all who have supported this endeavor in any way.

For the rest of y’all, hang tight! I hope to have options for you all to see the film very soon.
